TGA-50 Series and TGA-51 Series Thermogravimetric Analyzers
Shimadzu’s TGA-50 series and TGA-51 series thermogravimetric analyzers use a light-weight balance mechanism and taut band fulcrum to provide high-vibration tolerance and high-sensitivity measurement. High-temperature versions, H models, and large sample mass models, TGA-51 series, are available to meet the needs of demanding applications.

Features
Quantification of Minute Mass Changes in Various Atmospheres
With a weight readability of 0.1 µg, the TGA-50 series and TGA-51 series can quantify the smallest of weight changes. The design permits the use of reactive gases such as hydrogen, while protecting the balance with an inert gas. The compact balance and small furnace minimize the dead volume and increase air tightness and gas displacement efficiency.
Automated Gas Switching and Cooling Options
By adding a FC-60A atmosphere control unit, gas switching during the temperature program can be automated within the software. An optional cooling blower, which begins automatically after measurement is complete and stops after the furnace is cooled, shortens time between measurements, increasing efficiency.
Control via TA-60WS Thermal Analysis Workstation Software
The TGA-50 series and TGA-51 series are controlled by the TA-60WS thermal analysis workstation’s intuitive data acquisition software, and evaluation and reports are easily accomplished using the data analysis software. The TA-60WS enables the data acquisition software to control up to four Shimadzu thermal analysis instruments of any type simultaneously.
Optional Analytical Laboratory Regulation Compliance, Including US FDA 21 CFR Part 11
To comply with guidelines such as PIC/S GMP and electronic record and electronic signature (ER/ES) regulations, including US FDA 21 CFR Part 11, a version of the TA-60WS thermal analysis workstation software is available.
Large Selection of Sample Cells
A wide variety of sample cells, such as mesh cells, which enable gas distribution within a sample, and high-capacity cells are available to satisfy a diverse range of applications. In addition, a special film vapor transmission rate measurement cell is available for the TGA-51 series.
