Comprehensive Analysis of Alcohols and Hand Sanitizers – Regulatory Compliance and Analytical Efficiency
Date: Tuesday, October 13, 2020
Time: 11:00 AM Eastern Daylight Time
Duration: 1 hour
The efficacy and purity of sanitizing products has never been a more pressing concern than is has been in 2020.
This webinar presented by Shimadzu and the National Corn-to-Ethanol Research Center (NCERC) at Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville (SIUE) will discuss the chemical analysis of ethanol, isopropanol, and hand sanitizers. Interest in this topic has grown rapidly as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic and concern over health, hygiene, and safety. Many ethanol producers, including those of fuel, beverage, and industrial ethanol have dedicated process streams to the production of hand sanitizers and their components.
In this webinar, Shimadzu's panel of experts will discuss the market for alcohol-based hand sanitizers, the current US regulatory environment, as well as analytical solutions including gas chromatography, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, and UV-Vis spectroscopy to ensure the purity, potency, and safety of alcohols and hand sanitizers.
Also discussed will be NCERC’s badge accreditation program which helps qualify individuals and demonstrate their knowledge and abilities, ensuring the quality and integrity of your analytical results.
The webinar will wrap up with a brief overview of other efforts being undertaken by Shimadzu towards the fight against Covid-19, including development and distribution of novel PCR testing kits for rapid diagnosis of infected individuals.
A Q&A session will be hosted after the presentation to address any questions or comments.
